When a good (male) friend came to stay a few weeks ago, I found myself staring at the spare bedroom and thinking how very bare it looks in comparison the rest of the house where, as you might imagine, flowers and plants are very much in evidence.  Clearly I needed to make a new arrangement for the room, but it needed to be masculine in character.

My choice was all red, red leaves and red flowers. I think the combination worked well, but you can judge for yourself by viewing our very first video which shows how I did it.

I am curios as to why you would want to give a man a floral arrangement?

Well in this case I wanted to decorate the bedroom for a friend who was coming to stay. I think a room without flowers looks bare. But actually lots of men like flowers, just maybe not pink ones. I believe in Japan flower arranging was once an exclusively male activity.

Why would you NOT want to give a man a floral arrangement? Weather it is to say “thank you” for a well-done business deal, or “happy birthday, Dad!” anytime is a good time to send a floral arrangement to either a man or woman. Dish gardens, and European Gardens are a wonderful option because you can combine both blooming and green plants in a basket or ceramic dish for easy care, and long lasting beauty. Green plants are also a nice option for work or home. They require good light, which the office setting provides, as well as minimum maintenance. Vased arrangements can be creative in masculine tones including burgundy, purples, blues, and greens. Never think that a man can’t enjoy an arrangement or plant, you never know whose day you might brighten by sending a floral arrangement!

What a wonderful arrangement. I wish I saw this last week! I so appreciated all the time and assistance our car dealership gave us when we purchased our new car that I wanted to thank them.

I usually send flowers but when the car salesman was a male, I felt uncomfortable. This arrangement is very nice looking and would have looked great on his desk!
